I was told to get fitted for a wig while I still had my hair, that way we could try and easily match my look. My friend Gail came with me and she made it fun, I was laughing through the whole experience! I tried on different wigs and finally settled on one that matched my style and color. I also got the kind that is bald on top so I could easily put on a hat. The head wraps I stayed far away from - they scream cancer patient to me and I am not ready to go there. Kindly, the saleswoman said she would shave my hair when it starts to fall out. I want to donate my hair, but since I've already had a round of chemotherapy, she said my hair is "dead," not qualified to give away. So many years of growing my hair, it's finally gotten to a length and color I really love, and now it is useless.
