Welcome! I'm Chiara, triple negative breast cancer survivor; here is my journey, I hope it helps you!

THE EMPIRE STATE

THE EMPIRE STATE

I woke up, went on an audition for a commercial in Manhattan, and decided to spend the rest of the day in the city - ever have one of those ordinary days? Visa is looking for a cancer survivor for their spot, so it was suitable for me to try out. It felt good to be in a location where I was sought out for my diagnosis, and not so that I could be poked and prodded! I strolled south on the High Line afterwards, in the sunshine, not caring about the transparency of my Anthropologie tank - after all, I only have one real breast, it doesn't feel voyeuristic if it isn't real! At the end, on Gansevoort Street, I visited the new Whitney Museum. I preferred the top floors for artists like Florine Stettheimer, Edward Hopper, Andrew Wyeth, Georgia O'Keefe, Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Tom Wesselman, Susan Rothenberg, Willem De Kooning, Jasper Johns, Edward Ruscha, Jackson Pollock and his wife, Lee Krasner. The architect, Italian Renzo Piano, did a great job at integrating the indoor and outdoor space so they flow well together (proud Italian moment). Notice the building behind me in the photo?
