This is a story that illustrates why we need to #SaveACA, from SHARE volunteer and participant Chiara D'Agostino: #coveragematters

"I applied for insurance under #Obamacare (the Affordable Care Act, #ACA) and got accepted for Medicaid in September 2014. In October, I found a lump in my breast and was diagnosed with Triple Negative Breast Cancer, Stage III. Medicaid under Obamacare covered all of the treatment costs at the Cancer Institute of New Jersey, including the scans, biopsy, surgeries, reconstruction, chemotherapy, doctor appointments, and hospital stays. I am not married, so I couldn’t join a spouse’s insurance plan, and I have no savings. I feel so lucky that Medicaid paid for all of it. In August 2016, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer, and I continue to get full coverage. I’m very worried about what could happen with a new president. Medicaid is saving my life, and I don’t know what I would do without it." #savehealthcare
